“WOMEN OF THE LIBRARY: THE NEXT LEVEL!”

SEVEN women of different shapes, sizes
and make are not easy to confine in a group! Collectively known as The Women of The Library, these ladies have earned the love and support of the guests that regularly see them in the respective days they host at The Library sing-along bar (now in 1739 Maria Orosa street, Malate).

TART, JOYCE, COCO, EVA, BILLY, MAC and JO are part of the league of women hosts of The Library. They have proven what it means to be nominated as ‘The Most Promising Group’ of The Library on its 21st anniversary last year. And finally bagging the ‘Group of the Year’ in the bar’s 22nd anniversary last June this year. As their recognition says, they’ve got what it takes to outdo all the other groups that their mentor, The Library’s owner Andrew ‘Mamu’ de Real has dreamt for them.

Individually, each excels in their own style and forte. Tart sings rock tunes and has a flair such as that of Bonnie Tyler. She has also appeared in several TV shows. Joyce is the Anita Baker of the group singing standard songs. Coco belts Aretha Franklin tunes. Eva sings ala Randy Crawford and Chaka Khan. While Billy was hailed the Tinig Awardee in the recent 22nd anniversary of The Library last June 2007. She bagged the award from The Library’s Golden Book Awards given annually. She sings the songs of Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. Mac, the Kelly Clarkson of the group can also belt out a variety of tunes. And last but not the least, Jo captures her audience with her voice that resembles that of Alicia Keys, the Cranberries, Alanis Morissette and No Doubt. The rest of the women are also awardees in their own right having won in the past anniversaries their own Golden Book Awards trophies.
