The Library Marks 22nd Anniversary

The Library on M. Adriatico St., Malate, Manila has become synonymous with honing talents of a different kind. Among these talents who have etched their names in the world of stand-up comedy / entertainment are Allan K., Arnell Ignacio, Ai-Ai de las Alas, Philip Lazaro, Teri Onor, Pooh and the Raging Divas. It continues to serve its purpose by poking fun at its never-ending list of customers for 22 years now.

The Library celebrates another year with special shows until June 20. The yearly Golden Book awards will be held on the date of the comedy bar’s anniversary itself, June 21.

Relive and witness be unforgettable scenes from a Chorus Line, Annie, Evita, Cats, Beauty and the Beast, Dream Girls, Miss Saigon and La Cage Aux Follies as hosts for each week don not just costumes but perform their best with the memorable scenes from every Broadway musical.

Guests and customers will be treated to nightly surprises as they await the talents who will be the recipients of the prestigious Tinig and Entertainer of the Year awards.

The Library will move to a new home on 1739 Maria Orosa St., Malate, Manila next month. Everyone who has been part of the rise of the comedy bar is invited to this event.

“It saddens all of us,” says Library owner Andrew de Real. “But life, they say, is ever-changing. Like a good book that you have read, your memory will retain all the best parts of the chapters you have encountered. And it will continue to go on, especially it it’s a blockbuster!”
